Name That Character – Now With Answers

The answers have now been posted! You will find the correct name next to each scripture reference heading. I know some who read my blog take issue with the fact that I say God speaks to me. However I will never hide the fact that He does. The verses for the following entities were given to me directly by the Lord: Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Carmen Ortiz, Judge O’Toole, God, The Prosecution, Lynn@iwasleah10years. All other scriptures were chosen by me as being appropriate for that entity.

Welcome to “Name That Character.” To play, simply match the list of characters in the first section to the most appropriate Bible verse in the second section by determining which verse best describes their actions, role, character, experience or future as it relates to the Boston Marathon bombing. I will post the correct answers on Tuesday.

I have endeavored to list the characters, as much as possible, in the order of their involvement. (Let the reader understand.) I gave God top billing for obvious and positive reasons. I am in no way saying He was responsible for this tragedy.

The Characters:

1. God
2. U.S. Government
4. Carmen Ortiz
5. Law Enforcement
6. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev
7. Dzhokhar Supporters
8. The SAMs
9. Twitter
10. The Trolls
11. Judge O’Toole
12. The Prosecution
13. The Defense
14. Salted Muffins @39cbf1da7cbc4e5 and B@freedzhokhar93
15. Lynn@iwasleah10years
16. Aza, Robel, Dias, Khairullozhon & Ibragim
17. The Jury

The Verses:

Proverbs 10:19   TWITTER

“When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable. But he who restrains his lips is wise.”

Psalm 12:8       THE JURY

“The wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among men.”

“The cowering prisoners will soon be set free; they will not die in their dungeon, nor will they lack bread.”

“Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have my law in your hearts: Do not fear the reproach of men or be terrified by their insults. For the moth will eat them up like a garment; the worm will devour them like wool.”

Psalm 37: 35 – 36  CARMEN ORTIZ

“I have seen a wicked and ruthless man flourishing like a green tree in its native soil, but he soon passed away and was no more; though I looked for him, he could not be found.”

Psalm 38:12  FBI/CIA

“Those who seek my life set their traps, those who would harm me talk of my ruin; all day long they plot deception.”

James 4:17  THE DEFENSE

“Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.”

Isaiah 29:24  THE TROLLS

“Those who err in mind will know the truth, and those who criticize will accept instruction.”

Isaiah 46: 10-11  GOD!

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do.”

Isaiah 29:20-21  THE PROSECUTION

“For the ruthless will come to an end and the scorner will be finished, indeed all who are intent on doing evil will be cut off; who cause a person to be indicted by a word, and ensnare him who adjudicates at the gate, and defraud the one in the right with meaningless arguments.”

Habakkuk 2:2-3   LYNN@IWASLEAH10YEARS

“Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay.”

“There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

Psalm 140:2-3    U.S. GOVERNMENT

“Who devise evil things in their hearts; they continually stir up wars. They sharpen their tongues as a serpent; poison of a viper is under their lips.”

“False witnesses stepped forward and questioned me concerning things about which I knew nothing.”

Psalm 38: 13-14   THE SAMs

“I am like a deaf man, who cannot hear, like a mute, who cannot open his mouth; I have become like a man who does not hear, whose mouth can offer no reply.”

Psalm 56:1, 6   LAW ENFORCEMENT

“Be merciful to me, O God, for men hotly pursue me; all day long they press their attack. They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, eager to take my life.”

“Why, O Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. He boasts of the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord. In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. His ways are always prosperous; he is haughty and your laws are far from him; he sneers at all his enemies. He says to himself, “Nothing will shake me; I’ll always be happy and never have trouble.” His mouth is full of curses and lies and threats; trouble and evil are under his tongue. He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent, watching in secret for his victims. He lies in wait like a lion in cover; he lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net. His victims are crushed, they collapse; they fall under his strength. He says to himself, “God has forgotten; he covers his face and never sees.” Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless. Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, “He won’t call me to account?” But you, O God do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. Break the arm (power) of the wicked and evil man; call him to account for his wickedness that would not be found out. The Lord is King forever and ever; the nations will perish from his land. You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may cause terror no more.”

No Bad Days

There’s a farmer in a wheat field
Prayin’ for rain
There’s a mother in mournin’
And a child that’s in pain
Sufferin’ and hard times
When you’re down on your luck
But it ain’t in the fallin’
It’s in the gettin’ back up

As long as your heart’s beatin’
There’s no bad days
You got somethin’ to believe in…
There’s no bad days
As long as you’re dreamin’ – reachin’ – seekin’
Make no mistake
But as long as you’re breathin’
There’s no bad days

When the sun just ain’t shinin’
And there’s no hand in sight
Have faith in the shadows
That you’ll find light
It’s amazin’ the view
When you’re down on your knees
You may not get what you want
But you get what you need

As long as your heart’s beatin’
There’s no bad days
You got somethin’ to believe in…
There’s no bad days
As long as you’re dreamin’ – reachin’ – seekin’
Make no mistake
But as long as you’re breathin’
There’s no bad days
