As if yesterday was not painful enough, today’s news is even worse: Jahar has been taken to the most severe prison in America after the prosecution made a big show of telling the jury he would only go to the Supermax in Colorado if he received a LWOP sentence. A death sentence, they assured all, would be served in Terre Haute, Indiana.

It has now been confirmed he is in the Supermax anyway.

When I heard the news, I was completely devastated. I had no idea how I was going to handle it because I had no idea how HE, Jahar was going to be able to handle it.

And then God spoke… reminding me of a passage of scripture he has given me on three separate occasions, each time telling me He was speaking this to me concerning Jahar.

Embrace this Word if you can. You will find the peace we all desperately need to be able to move forward, believing that all will be well for Jahar, no matter how bad it looks. We cannot judge by what our eyes see or our ears hear. We must trust the Lord. We must have faith. A good ending awaits Jahar. With a strong word like the one I am about to share, we can continue to stand for him and pray and believe until we see it!

Isaiah 51:12 – 14
“I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you are afraid of man who dies and of the son of man who is made like grass, that you have forgotten the Lord your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, that you fear continually all day long because of the fury of the oppressor, as he makes ready to destroy?”

“But where is the fury of the oppressor?”
“The exile will soon be set free, and will not die in the dungeon, nor will his bread be lacking.”

The first time the Lord told me this passage of scripture was concerning Jahar was almost two years ago, at the very beginning of it all. I was blown away when I read the last line! It’s pretty clear to me God means to set him free in His perfect timing!

For those of you who have never experienced this occurrence, sometimes God will just drop a passage of scripture into your mind. With me, how He seems to speak is that part of a sentence will suddenly go through my mind along with an urgent feeling or feeling of excitement that God is speaking and I will go look up and find the whole passage that the sentence I heard is contained in.

Like I said, the Lord has given me this passage three times for Jahar. Each time he has gotten me to look it up by speaking a different phrase from it. Each time I looked it up I did not realize it ended up with that amazingly strong promise about the exile being set free and not dying in the dungeon. How I needed this again tonight, knowing where Jahar is right now!

We can rejoice, God knows where he is too and that is all that matters! Jahar will be OK! The Lord is with him in that cell! The Bible says “Though I make my bed in hell, Thou art there.” Psalm 139:8

I am so glad this is true for Jahar tonight!

Thinking again for a moment about that strange apology statement yesterday, it now appears to me that the government is really trying to bury the memory of Jahar long before his execution. By pressuring him to make that statement yesterday, I believe they were trying to get his supporters to forget about him, knowing that today they were transferring him to the Supermax, where men are all but forgotten.

My support for Jahar will not be diminished. In fact it is now stronger than ever! I want to end this post with a video of a beautiful song to comfort us and one day to comfort Jahar when he gets to read this blog after his release.

Jesus is there in that cell with Jahar because we can’t be!

Winston Churchill said no crime is so great as daring to excel. I am ready to take that dare. An unexpected and somewhat unexplainable compassion for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has drawn me out of my comfort zone.

  1. Thank you for sharing this blog post! God’s word is truly not returning to Him void without accomplishing the matter for which it was sent!

  2. Lynn..Lynn..Lynn…when my life challenges me you fix it. Thank you for that captivating story… Jesus is with Jahar!!!💞💞💞

  3. What you believe with your heart is what drives your towards your goal. Following our hearts will lead us to the way to help and support Dzhokhar. Beautiful words, Lynn. Thank you.
Please share the petition to help this strong young man.

  4. Hope this is of some small comfort to you. Looks like he is in transit (convolutedly) to Terre Haute, Ind. “Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev arrived at the U.S. Penitentiary in Florence, Colorado, on Thursday, a day after he was sentenced to death. A spokesman for the U.S. Department of Justice confirmed that Tsarnaev was being held at the high-security facility. The penitentiary is in the same prison complex as the ADX, a Supermax prison, but is a different institution.” So…not the Supermax.

    1. This is good to know Richard- not the ADX, but are you sure? I wonder how long he will be there for, and why is he there?

  5. If Jahar was not able to handle it, God would not allow it. I have no doubt about that. If he was not finding the strength he needs in God he would be dead by now because this boy has endured way more than what humans were designed to go thru IMHO. Thank you for commenting!

  6. After all he’s been put through in the past two years and a bit – gunshots, maiming, interrogations, police and state terror fit for the Old Soviet Empire, surgery, trials, SAMS, insults, discrimination of the worst kind, defamation, loss of his brother, lies, lies and more lies, death sentence(s) and many lives in prison, etc. etc. etc., I would say Dzhokhar is a lot stronger than we can imagine. Quite a lot!
Some more isolation will probably not move him much- he is, at least for now, in Ramadan disposition and I suspect that, much like a praying monk, he pays very little attention to the actions of plain mortals like us. Or like them- all sinners, that is :)))))))))))))))
So please let’s all be well and stay well, and follow-up on Dzhokhar, and continue to pray for him. Please pray for Dzhokhar and pray that He will hear our prayers.

  7. Wow!! Your words have brought some much needed comfort to me. That passage is powerful! God is powerful!
The gov may seem powerful but they have not silenced us and will not. Good eventually always prevails over evil.
